The Campus Y once again received a generous financial donation of $10,000 that is being allocated for summer travel plans. Funds, up to a maximum of $1,500 per person, were allocated with first priority given to undergraduate students engaged in Y programs, and second priority given to all other students. |

In 2009, the Campus Y and APPLES spearheaded an expanded orientation for undergraduate students doing service, service-learning and/or research in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. GO! Global Orientation on Ethics and Culture was offered on Saturday, March 28. A Fall GO! Reflections will be offered on September 17 for returning students. Twenty years ago, the Campus Y South Africa Scholarship Fund (SASF) was organized by two Y leaders and Morehead scholars – Richard Hoile and Francesca Varcoe - on their return from a summer in South Africa. During 1986-1987, the students collected over $40,000, which has now grown to over $63,000. In 2005, the Campus Y contributed $3,000 to Christel House school in Cape Town SA for student mental health services. In 2006 and 2007, the Y renewed funding for this critically needed program.
