Non-Profit Summer Internship Scholarships
The Campus Y’s commitment to social justice and service has benefited the Chapel Hill community and beyond since 1859. The Y helped lead the racial integration of the student body, opposition to the Vietnam War, efforts to improve wages and working conditions for University employees, and many other efforts to improve the campus and community.
The Campus Y building is now restored and reopened - ensuring that there will always be a home for activism and volunteerism at Carolina. In large part, this renovation could not have happened without the inspiration and vision of an alumna who means so much to all of us - Virginia Carson.

Buy a Brick

The Campus Y is back in its beautifully renovated building. By giving a contribution of $100 or more, you have the opportunity to engrave your name or a message of up to three rows of 18 characters on a brick
that will become part of the sidewalk surrounding the historic Y building. The first 200 engraved bricks have already been installed in the sidewalk cafe area and in the sidewalk leading up to and in front of the entrance (see example below).
