CAMPUS Y (noun): A UNC Chapel Hill student organization committed to the achievement of social justice and the enhancement of pluralism.
- So-cial (adjective): Of or relating to human society, the interaction of the individual and the group, or the welfare of human beings as members in the society.
- Jus-tice (noun): The quality of being just, impartial or fair. The principle or ideal of just dealing or right action.
- Plu-ral-is (noun): A state of society in which members of diverse ethnic, racial, religious, or social groups maintain an autonomous participation in and development of their traditional culture or special interest within the confines of a common civilization.
The Campus Y is an organization that is fully devoted to its mission:The pursuit of social justice through the cultivation of pluralism. The statement describes the duty of students to act as citizens of a global community. The Campus Y believes that everyone has a responsibility to foster cultural understanding and interaction while maintaining the individuality of all cultural groups.
