Students for the Advancement of Race Relations (SARR)is one of the oldest committees within the Campus Y. We encourage controversial and sometimes uncomfortable conversations about the role an individual's race plays in society and how an individual's race/ethnicity affects their other identities.

As part of the 2004 Race Relations Week, Students for the Advancement of Race Relations presented a black history tour and brochure to the Black Student Movement. This tour is the first of its kind at UNC.
The tour includes 16 stops at well-known buildings and monuments on and around the campus. It also touches on some of the prominent historical members of the University. Click here to view the brochure Black History Tour |

Students for the Advancement of Race Relations (SARR) strives to facilitate communication and understanding across racial lines. It is our goal to bring racial issues into the public's consciousness by fostering constructive, provocative discourse. We challenge everyone to confront harmful stereotypes and biases and emphasize the collective sense of sisterhood and brotherhood that unites us all. |
